Congrats on getting stuff out properly. It’s a good feeling. 
When you remove/re upload/republish those tracks (to replace artwork), be sure use the same ISRC number used for the original upload.
This should mean you keep any previous play counts.

I’m using DistroKid to distribute my music and it seems they handle that side of things if I want to update anything. But will definitely keep this in mind to be sure!
