I recently discovered a future house collaboration between Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa called ‘One Kiss.’ I highly recommend it, it’s a great song.
Anyways, while listening to it I noticed a lot of familiar instruments that could be replicated with Auxy samples. Here are a few points in the song. (I know Harris didn’t actually use Auxy instruments but I’m going to be treating my observations like he did)
-Right off the bat in the intro, you can hear a highpassed mask
-Harris used an electric piano, plenty of selection from AP-005
-Sub bass in the first part up until the drop at 1:08 sounds like punch or another boom bass
-Sexy future house bass in the drop, could be replicated with Owl or something else
-Chords starting at the drop could be replicated with fragment paired with another synth
-Part after first drop has some piano, no further explanation needed in terms of auxy replication
-Synth at 1:49 sorta sounds like Silk or another sweet pad
-Drums can obviously be recreated using selection of thousands of samples
-Effects can be added in easily
As you can see, it’s actually pretty simple to remake this track verbatim, and while I don’t suggest this for creative purposes, it’s still extremely neat for making instrumental versions of your favorite songs.
Auxy can be harnessed as a tool to easily create instrumentals of these pop songs because its perfectly fit to make them at this point.
